Azpilicueta Rosado is a rosé wine from the D.O. La Rioja produced by the Faustino winery. It is a coupage of the Viura and Tempranillo varieties. The Viura plots are located entirely in the region of La Rioja Alta; the vineyard from which the Tempranillo grape originates is located in the town of Fuenmayor. After the corresponding harvesting processes and once in the winery, the Azpilicueta Rosado berries macerate cold for a few hours. The must is then obtained afterwards by the bleeding method and a racking is performed. After the must has been cleaned, a slow fermentation is carried out at controlled low temperatures. Azpilicueta Rosado is the winery's response to a market that has been growing notably in recent years, that of the D.O. La Rioja rosé wine.

Azpilicueta is nowadays a range of wines with a beginning that is intimately linked to the historic Bodegas AGE of Fuenmayor, in Rioja Alta. Its "solera" is still evident in the old warehouse of its founder, Mr Félix de Azpilicueta. Felix de Azpilicueta's long dedication to the production of Rioja wines, together with the application of the most advanced techniques, has allowed him to develop new combinations using traditional methods to offer more modern, vibrant and expressive wine styles.
Rioja is one of the most important areas of wine production in the world. It has a long history, and exceptional soils and climates. From the Tempranillo and Grenache varieties they make great red wines that are masterfully aged which demonstrates the experience passed from generation to generation.
