AT Roca Pedregar is an organic Brut Nature sparkling wine made by AT Roca with the Macabeo and Garnacha Tinta varieties in the D.O. Penedès.
AT Roca is the personal project set up by Agustí Torelló Sibill and his two sons, Agustí and Jordi, when they left the family winery. Taking organic viticulture, native varieties and careful enology as a starting point, they make still and sparkling wines that are a direct reflection of Penedès.
AT Roca Pedregar comes from a 3.2 hectare vineyard lying at an altitude of 220 metres above sea level in the central area of Penedès. Planted in 1982 on calcareous loam soils, these are old vines cultivated with organic certification and harvested manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
AT Roca Pedregar is a Clàssic Penedès that is made following the champenoise method. Following fermentation, the wine ages in 500-litre French oak barrels for 8 months and then undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle where it remains for at least 36 months. Finally it is disgorged without adding expedition liqueur.
AT Roca Pedregar is a sparkling wine with an attractive pale pink colour. A coupage of Macabeo and Garnacha that seeks to express and dignify the Penedès area.
