Andreas Tscheppe Green Dragonfly Réserve 2017 is a white wine with aromas of white fruit, notes of dried fruit and hints of spice. On the palate it is fresh, round and precise. A lovely wine with a spicy mineral heart and a nice touch of reduction.

Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Andreas Tscheppe is inspired by the biodiversity of his vineyards. This cult winegrower extraordinaire located in Styria (Weinland Österreich), the border region of Austria just minutes away from Slovenia, has been making waves in recent years for the beautiful natural wines he makes. Butterflies, dragonflies and beetles are some of the fascinating creatures that live in his vineyard lying 500 metres above sea level. This is clear to see in every one of his wine names and labels. And as the saying goes “show me how you dress and I'll tell you what you’re like".

As member of “Schmecke das Lebe”, a group of five producers working biodynamically in this region, Andreas Tscheppe’s vineyards are pure gardens full of life with a multitude of insects, wild herbs, grass and bare stones. Working with the premise that “nature provides everything you need to stabilise and protect wine and guarantee it develops well in the bottle,” Andreas takes the risk of working in the vineyard and in the winery without using any artificial oenological products. The aim is to not deprive the wine of its full and true expression and the pleasing results of this work have turned their wines into sought-after gems.

Andreas Tscheppe Green Dragonfly Réserve is a single-variety Sauvignon Blanc that starts life in limestone soils and the grapes are pressed and fermented spontaneously in used 1100 and 1800 litre barrels, where the wine also ages for 24 months. Finally it is bottled unclarified and unfiltered and rests in the winery for 2 years before being sold. This results in a very special white wine that reflects the charm of a fascinating landscape.
