Aldo Viola Moretto is a red wine made with the Syrah, Perricone and Nerello Mascalese varieties in the IGT Sicily by the Aldo Viola winery.
This 4-generation family winery is made up of 16 hectares of organic vineyards. Aldo Viola is committed to making natural wines and does so with as much respect as possible for the land that produces them. True craftsmanship that follows the patterns of nature and allows a small annual production of 10,000 high quality bottles.
Aldo Viola Moretto comes from three different vineyards. The Syrah variety comes from an old vineyard cultivated with the traditional bush method and the Perricone and Nerello Mascalese varieties are from young vineyards. All the vines are certified organic and organically cultivated using biodynamic treatments. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum moment of ripeness.
Each of the varieties used to make Aldo Viola Moretto is fermented separately with native yeasts. The Syrah variety has the longest contact with the skin. Then 50% ages in stainless steel tanks and the other 50% in small wooden barrels for 6 months. The wine is not filtered and only a small amount of sulphur dioxide is used.
Aldo Viola Moretto is a fresh, Mediterranean red wine made with ancient artisanal methods and with a true Trapani character.
