About Recanati Marselan Reserve
Recanati Marselan Reserve is a barrel-aged kosher red wine made by Recanati with the Marselan variety in Galilee (Israel).
The Recanati winery was founded in 2000 by Lenny Recanati and Uri Shaked. Two wine enthusiasts who love their land and wanted to showcase the quality of the Israeli terroir. The result of this is very elegant wines with an authentic local character and suitable for a Jewish diet.
The Recanati Marselan Reserve wine is made with the Marselan variety, which is a cross between Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon. Although it originated in the south of France, it has adapted perfectly to the Recanati terroir and Mediterranean climate. In the vineyard, they use traditional agriculture, limiting the strain yield to make the grapes more concentrated.
In the winery, the Recanati Marselan Reserve grapes are vinified following kashrut regulations (Jewish Dietary Laws) and supervised by a Jewish religious authority. During this process the wine ages for 12 months in French oak barrels, half of which are new. Finally, it is bottled after undergoing coarse filtration.
Recanati Marselan Reserve is an unquestionably Mediterranean single-variety wine. This red wine is made with an unusual variety for the area but it is very elegant and voluminous.

2012 | Recanati Marselan Reserve 2012 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of red fruits, floral notes and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate it is elegant, enveloping and flavoursome. On the mid-palate the floral, fruity and herbaceous notes return with hints of wood. This was the first vintage made with the Marselan variety, and it has been awarded 90 Parker points. |
