Tasting notes Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Cont'Ugo Bolgheri 2022
Red wine Aged in wood. 12 meses en barrica.
Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Cont'Ugo Bolgheri 2022 is a red wine that captivates at first glance with its deep ruby hue. On the nose, it unveils a symphony of ripe red fruits (currant, raspberry, and cherry) enveloped in subtle nuances of Mediterranean herbs and undergrowth. Its palate is elegant and well-structured, with a persistence that lingers with freshness and a fruity aftertaste that beckons another sip. A wine that marries character and refinement in every glass.

About Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Cont'Ugo Bolgheri
In medieval Florence, and in many other European cities at the time, corporations or guilds (called “arti” in Italian) played an important role in how society was organised and specific trades were regulated. The “Arte dei Vinattieri” was in charge of supervising and regulating the production and sale of wine in Florence, ensuring that high quality standards were maintained and that the established regulations were complied with. The Antinori family, one of the first to be part of this guild (joining in 1385), is one of the groups that has contributed the most to placing the Bolgheri region among the most important wine-growing areas in Europe. Since 1940 they have owned Tenuta Guado al Tasso, a prestigious Italian wine estate near the medieval town of Bolgheri, in the Tuscan Maremma area. Their wines are highly appreciated for their quality and are enjoyed all over the world.
With an estate area of over 1,000 hectares, 300 of which are planted with vines, they produce exceptional wines like Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Cont'Ugo Bolgheri. A single-variety Merlot whose vines are planted on silty-clay soils of predominantly alluvial origin and at an altitude of between 45 and 60 metres above sea level. After the grapes are harvested and selected by hand, they are fermented for 25 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature in the winery. They then undergo malolactic fermentation for approximately 25 days. Finally, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels before being bottled.
Part of the small and prestigious DOC Bolgheri, Antinori Tenuta Guado al Tasso Cont'Ugo Bolgheri is a “Super Tuscan” that exhibits the power and sweetness of the Maremma region and has contributed to making the Antinori family one of the most important families in the splendour of Italian wine.
