Veramonte Pinot Noir Reserva 2020
Valle de Casablanca
(Valle de Casablanca)
Veramonte Ritual Pinot Noir is a wood-aged red wine made by Veramonte in the Casablanca Valley (Chile) with the Pinot Noir variety.
Founded in 1990 west of Santiago de Chile by Chilean wine legend Agustín Huneeus, Veramonte is the first winery to make a serious commitment to the Casablanca Valley. This respectful work was born with the aim of showcasing the most faithful expression of the region’s terroirs and that has been more than achieved.
Veramonte Ritual Pinot Noir comes from a selection of vineyards planted on granite soils at an altitude of 310 metres above sea level, with a 3-5% slope at the foot of the Cordillera de la Costa. The vines are cultivated with respectful agriculture and biodiversity is promoted to maintain the natural balance of the vines.
When the Veramonte Ritual Pinot Noir grapes reach the winery, they begin vinification with 30% of the clusters whole. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts and the wine ages for 12 months in 400-litre French oak barrels.
Veramonte Ritual Pinot Noir is a wine made with such skill that it showcases the full potential of the Pinot Noir variety in the New World. The perfect balance between body and juiciness.
Veramonte Ritual Pinot Noir 2017 is a smooth red wine with fruity aromas of cherry and raspberry and hints of vanilla, tobacco and chocolate. On the palate it is smooth, intense and enveloping. A fresh wine with silky tannins and extraordinary acidity. The finish is velvety, long and persistent.
