Ventisquero Herú Pinot Noir is a 100% Pinot Noir wood-aged red wine made by Viña Ventisquero in the Casablanca Valley, in Chile.
Viña Ventisquero was set up in 2000 by Felipe Tosso in the Maipo Valley and three years later, he acquired more land in the Casablanca Valley and Apalta Valley. Working to the philosophy of “one step further”, his aim is to express the diversity of the landscape through his wines. He extensively studies the different soils, and this has allowed him to produce high-quality modern-style wines. This in turn has seen his winery become a leader in Chile.
Ventisquero Herú Pinot Noir comes from a one hectare vineyard located in the Casablanca Valley. These vines are planted in granite clay soils and are traditionally cultivated in a way that takes care of the environment. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested by hand.
In the winery, the Ventisquero Herú Pinot Noir grapes undergo cold maceration for a week and fermentation takes place in small open tanks at a controlled temperature of 22-26ºC. The wine then ages in new, second-use and third-use French barrels for 14 months.
Ventisquero Herú Pinot Noir is a fine, fresh and elegant red wine. A Pinot Noir that tells a story of the Casablanca Valley. Its fruitiness blends perfectly with the oak and has earned it international critical acclaim.
