Sattlerhof Gamlitz Morillon is an organic white wine made on lees with the Morillon variety by Sattlerhof in Südsteiermark DAC, south of Styria (Austria).
Sattlerhof has been owned by the Sattler family since 1887 and was one of the first wineries in Gamlitz to start bottling quality dry white wines. The current owner, Wilhelm Sattler, is considered a pioneer of organic viticulture in the region and together with his two sons, Andreas and Alexander, he produces fresh, light wines that clearly express the structure and delicacy of each grape.
Sattlerhof Gamlitz Morillon comes from vines located on steep slopes with soils of mainly stone, sand and gravel. They are ecologically cultivated, which is very difficult in an area with a very unpredictable climate and lots of rainfall. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Sattlerhof Gamlitz Morillon grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must spontaneously ferments with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
Sattlerhof Gamlitz Morillon is a white wine that radiates the freshness and joviality that is typical of one of the best high altitude wine regions in Europe.
