About Rotem & Mounir Saouma Inopia Rouge
Rotem & Mounir Saouma Inopia Rouge is a red wine made mainly from Red Grenache a little Mourvèdre, Counoise, Syrah and Cinsault. It is a wine from the AOC Côtes du Rhôene produced by Rotem & Mounir Saouma.
Rotem & Mounir Saouma is a winery in the Rhone Valley that takes the name of the couple that runs it. They both studied viticulture and oenology and their first business in the world of wine was in 1999 with the creation of the micro-negociant Lucien Le Moine, designed to market Burgundy wines. They currently make their own wines and cultivate their 15 acres in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and another 22 in Côtes du Rhône organically.
The vineyards for Rotem & Mounir Saouma Inopia Rouge have clay soils with sandstone river stones. They were planted in 2011 and their density per hectare is high, 4,700 plants compared to the usual 3,500, so they obtain a low yield per plant but of a higher quality. All the work in the vineyard is carried out manually.
The harvest of Rotem & Mounir Saouma Inopia Rouge is vatted whole, without destemming, and macerated at a low temperature for a week. It then ferments for about 15 days infusing with the skins and without stirring or pumping over the wine. The wine then ages in foudres, cement ‘eggs’ and 500 litre barrels. It remains in them for 18 months without any decanting. It is bottled without filtering or clarifying.
Rotem & Mounir Saouma Inopia Rouge is an organic red wine produced according to the principles of little intervention. A fine and balanced wine that offers elegant and complex fruity aromas.

2016 | Rotem & Mounir Saouma Inopia Rouge 2016 is a wine that exhibits a tremendous fineness and balance. On the palate it is silky and elegant, and also displays pure aromas of red fruit. The 2016 vintage was a fantastic one in the southern part of the Rhone. It was characterised by its warm and dry days and cool nights, providing optimum conditions for the growth and ripening of the vine and its fruit. |
