Raimat Garnatxa Negra (formerly known as Raimat Boira) is a red wine produced by the winery Raimat in Raimat (Lleida), within D.O. Catalunya.
Raimat is the second project of Codorniu Grup, owned by the Raventós family. The building of the Raimat winery dates back to 1918. Joan Rubió i Bellver, who was a disciple of Antoni Gaudí, projected what was then the first building constructed with reinforced concrete in Spain. This building was given the name of the ‘cathedral of wine’.
At Raimat, they currently practice a sustainable viticulture, to achieve high-quality products, minimising the use of agrochemical products, reducing waste and optimising production methods through the full integration of the available resources. Raimat stands out from the beginning in the field of oenological research. Over 30 wine research projects confirm this winery as a true reference at a European and global level.
Raimat Garnatxa Negra is a red wine made with grenache from their own vineyards After the harvest, as soon as the grapes reach the winery, the grapes go through pre-fermentation maceration at 15°C, and then they are fermented in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature of 25-28ºC. All the production processes of this wine follow organic principles.
Raimat Garnatxa Negra 2018 is a juicy, fruity and sweet wine. On the nose, intense varietal aromas stand out, with sweet red fruit and light flowery notes. In the mouth, it is amiable, with a good mid-palate and a long and fresh finish.
In a unique environment, Raimat is a pioneer farm in cultivation and oenological technologies, which have led it to classify its 2,245 hectares in individual plots, treated one by one according to their unique features. Nowadays, Raimat is one of the most important winegrowing research and development centres in Spain. It is also a figurehead of sustainability and environmental programmes, which it uses to offer high-quality wines and cavas with a unique personality, made exclusively with grapes from their own farm, always with maximum respect and conservation of the environment.
