Racines Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills

Racines Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills is an organic red wine made with the Pinot Noir variety by Racines in California, in the Santa Rita Hills American wine region, in Santa Barbara County.

 

The Racines winery came about through a collaboration between two classic French wineries in the figures of Étienne de Montille and Rodolphe Péters and Justin Willett, the American winemaker from Tyler Winery. This collaboration resulted in a project that unites the wonders of Burgundy, Champagne and California and showcases the potential of one of the best terroirs in the new world, the Santa Rita Hills. 

 

Racines Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills comes from vines planted in different types of soil. A varied composition of sandy loam, clay, slate and flinty terroirs. They are cultivated using organic agriculture and organic treatments, avoiding any chemical products that could affect the environment. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness. 

 

In the winery, the Racines Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills grapes are vinified with one third kept in whole bunches. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts. The wine is then aged for a minimum of 18 months in French oak barrels before being bottled.
