Podere Pradarolo Velius Rosso Asciutto is a natural Barbera variety red wine made in the Emilia-Romagna region (Italy) by the Podere Pradarolo winery.

Podere Pradarolo is located In Varano de Melegari, in the province of Parma. An estate lying between 250 and 500 metres above sea level, where the vineyards, the winery and the villa all sit on the same land. The owners, Alberto and Claudia Carretti, use ancient practices to make old-fashioned wines. This results in natural, healthy and very durable wines.

The Podere Pradarolo Velius Rosso Asciutto vines are planted in clay soil with a low limestone content. Using natural, ecological and biodynamic practices, the main aim in the vineyard is to ensure that the strain grows independently and maintains its natural balance. For this to happen, the emergence of biodiversity must be allowed to occur naturally. When the grape reaches optimum ripeness, it is harvested by hand.

After a gentle pressing, the Podere Pradarolo Velius Rosso Asciutto grapes macerate with their skins for 90 days. It ferments spontaneously with native yeasts and without controlling the temperature. It then ages in botti for 18 months without filtering or introducing additives. Before it is released for sale, it is allowed to refine in the bottle.

Podere Pradarolo Velius Rosso Asciutto is a low sulphite red wine that is perfect for enjoying a natural and healthy wine that has been made the old-fashioned way.
