About Pinino Brunello di Montalcino
If this company is known for one thing, it is the unbeatable location. Pinino is located on the Montosoli hill, north of Montalcino. This is a fantastic area with a natural amphitheatre. Originally used as a farm, in 1950 it became one of the first winemaking companies in the DOCG Brunello di Montalcino. Since 2004, the company has been run by two couples, Andrea and Hannes Gamon and Silvia and Max Hernandez. They work as a team to produce high-quality wines characterised by native varieties and long aging.
The Pinino Brunello di Montalcino red wine comes from vines with an average age of 15-20 years old. These vines enjoy very unique weather conditions and rich clay and limestone soils. They are cultivated using traditional agriculture where the grape yield is reduced to a minimum and the harvest is manual following a careful selection of the bunches.
Once the grapes reach the winery, there is a second sorting process on a special selection table. Following a long alcoholic fermentation and natural malolactic fermentation Pinino Brunello di Montalcino is racked in Slavic oak barrels of various sizes (10, 20 and 30 hl.) and in 225-litre French oak barrels. It spends a minimum of 2 years there, plus some time in the bottle before being sold.
Pinino Brunello di Montalcino is a 100% Tuscan red wine that has the richness, beauty and depth of one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world.
2016 | Pinino Brunello di Montalcino 2016 is a deep red wine. The bouquet is refined and robust, featuring scents of blackberry and plum. On the palate, it presents a broad, well-rounded, and silky texture, with delicate tannins and nuanced spicy undertones. It concludes with an enduring finish. |
|
2015 | Pinino Brunello di Montalcino 2015 is a robust and sophisticated red wine. The bouquet is expansive, featuring scents of blackberry, wild berries, crushed rose, spices, herbs, almonds, and plum. On the palate, it displays refined tannins, culminating in a prolonged finish dominated by spicy notes and oak. Full-bodied and concentrated, it leaves a lasting and persistent impression. |
|
2013 | Pinino Brunello di Montalcino 2013 is a mature red wine with aromas of red fruits like cherry and raspberry. On the palate it is powerful and rich as well as refined. It has good tannins with a certain elegant rusticity. It has a lingering finish. |
