Pierre Morey Meursault Les Tessons is an organic, barrel-aged white wine made by Pierre Morey with the Chardonnay variety in the prestigious AOC Meursault / Côte-d'Or denomination, in Burgundy (France).
The Morey family has been making wine in Burgundy, in Chassagne-Montrachet since the 16th century and since 1793 in Meursault. Today, Pierre Money, the current generation of the family and winemaker at Domaine Leflaive for 20 years, produces wines using local varieties in an area of 11 hectares of impressive terroirs.
Pierre Morey Meursault Les Tessons comes from just outside the town of Meursault, on a steady slope with very stony soil. This is a 0.89 ha vineyard planted in 1978 and cultivated ecologically since 1993 and biodynamically since 1998. The harvest is carried out manually and the grapes are immediately taken to the winery.
The grapes selected to make the Pierre Morey Meursault Les Tessons wine go through an pneumatic press and the resulting must rests in a stainless steel tank for 12 to 24 hours. Fermentation happens spontaneously with native yeasts in oak barrels. Then bâtonnage begins and aging lasts for 16 to 20 months.
Pierre Morey Meursault Les Tessons is a Meursault style white wine. A fine, elegant and complex Chardonnay with a deep and full minerality.
