Characteristics Medrano Crianza
Medrano Crianza is a red wine from the D.O. La Rioja produced by the Bodegas Medrano Irazu. This wine is a single variety Tempranillo, without doubt the most characteristic grape in Rioja.
The grape used to make this wine comes from 30 of the 150 hectares of vineyards controlled by the winery. The harvest is carried out by hand and the berries are placed in tanks after being destemmed. After fermenting for approximately a week, the berries macerate for ten to fifteen more days, always at a controlled temperature of 28ºC.
After completing all of the above processes, Medrano Crianza's must is left to age for 12 months in 3 year old French and American oak barrels. During this period, they carry out periodic decanting. Finally, the wine rests in the bottle for a few more months before being sold.
