Marqués de Riscal Organic Blanco is a white wine produced by the winery Herederos del Marqués de Riscal in the municipality of Rueda, under denomination V.T. Castilla y León.

Herederos del Marqués de Riscal is the winery of the Marqués de Riscal group, which is in charge of producing white wines in the area of Rueda and Castilla y León.

In the 1970s, Marqués de Riscal decides to make its first white wine, choosing the area of Rueda for its quality. They currently have 230 hectares of their own vineyards, with the Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc varieties. They also manage 250 more hectares in La Seca, Rueda, Serrada and Rodilana, where they produce 5 white wines in the D.O. Rueda and V.T. Castilla y León.

Marqués de Riscal Organic Blanco is a wine made with Verdejo from their own vineyards that are over 25 years old, located in Rueda. These vineyards have been cultivated organically since 2010.

Once the grapes are harvested, they ferment with local yeasts in stainless steel deposits. After the fermentation, the wine is left to stand for a few months before it is launched on to the market.

Talking about Marqués de Riscal means talking about prestige, innovation, non-conformism and quality, values that have been shown since 1858, when this winery was founded.
We are in front of the oldest wineries within the D.O. Rioja, essential in the birth of the D.O. Rueda and with no doubt, one of the most daring and pioneering wineries due to its way of understanding the wine industry.

When we talking about the Rueda wines, we are often referring to their white wines. The white wines produced in this region are often made with the Verdejo variety, the main variety of Rueda, planted along the Douro River and its tributaries. Rueda white wines often offer lots of floral notes, scrubland low, delicate aromas and a great acidity given by strong temperature differences between day and night. Apart from white wine, Rueda also produces red wine, often made with the Tempranillo variety.
