About Lucien Le Moine Bourgogne Rouge

Lucien Le Moine Bourgogne Rouge is a wood-aged red wine made by Lucien Le Moine with the Pinot Noir variety in the AOC Bourgogne, in France.
 
After spending some time in a monastery, where he first encountered winemaking, Mounir Saouma decided to study oenology and set up his own project with his partner Rotem Brakim. Under the name Lucien Le Moine, a nickname given to him at the monastery, he makes very precise wines from great terroirs.  
 
Lucien Le Moine Bourgogne Rouge comes from small, high-quality terroirs in the Côte de Nuits. These vines are planted in clay-calcareous soils and cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
 
When the Lucien Le Moine Bourgogne Rouge grapes reach the winery, they undergo a carbonic maceration with native yeasts. The wine then spends a minimum of 12 months in French oak barrels.
 
Lucien Le Moine Bourgogne Rouge is a limited production classic Burgundy with all the aromas of the Pinot Noir variety and the elegance and uniformity of the wood.

Lucien Le Moine Bourgogne Rouge 2018 is a supple red wine brimming with aromas of ripe red fruits, hints of violet blossoms, and earthy undertones. On the palate, it is light-bodied, spirited, and invigorating. This wine features pronounced acidity, sturdy tannins, and a spicy finish.
