Characteristics Louis Jadot Meursault
Louis Jadot Meursault is a single-variety Chardonnay white wine made by Louis Jadot. This is a white wine carrying the AOC Meursault appellation.
Louis Jadot is a Burgundy winery that has been making exceptional wines since 1859 and has an excellent international reputation. It has also had its own cooperage since 1995 that supplies the best barrels that are good enough to ferment and age the most exclusive wines.
The Louis Jadot Meursault vineyard lies over gentle slopes in Côte de Blancs at an altitude of 230 to 360 meters above sea level. It faces east, which means it enjoys plenty of sunshine, which helps the grapes to fully ripen. The soil is chalky with white marls, which is perfect for Chardonnay cultivation.
The Louis Jadot Meursault harvest is carried out manually to fully preserve the grapes. When the grapes reach the winery, they are gently pressed and the must ferments in barrels made by the winery’s own cooperage, one third of which are new every year. After fermentation, the wine is aged on its own fine lees in the same barrels for about 10-15 months.
Louis Jadot Meursault is a voluminous white, with aromas of ripe fruit and spices as well as a refreshing acidity. This is a wine with great ageing potential.
Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product
Louis Jadot Meursault 2016 is a lovely silky and creamy wine. In the mouth it reveals pure soft fruit with toasted touches of oak and vanilla. It is juicy and balanced with notes of almonds and pear and captures what a good Chardonnay can offer.
