Louis-Claude Desvignes Morgon La Voute Saint Vincent 2021
AOC Morgon
(Beaujolais)
Louis-Claude Desvignes Morgon Javernières is a barrel-aged red wine made with the Gamay variety in the French denomination of AOC Morgon (Burgundy) by Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes.
Eight generations have worked the Louis-Claude Desvignes vineyards in the city of Morgon, Beaujolais. It is now run by brothers Louis-Benoît and Claude-Emmanuelle Desvignes who are the first to bottle their own wines here. Their wines are really interesting, characterised by their concentration and how well they age in the bottle.
Louis-Claude Desvignes Morgon Javernières comes from vines with an average age of 65 years old. These vines are planted at the foot of the famous Côte du Py hill where the soils are made of red clay rich in iron. They are cultivated using ecological agriculture and organic treatments, and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
In the winery, the Louis-Claude Desvignes Morgon Javernières wine is traditionally vinified. The fruit generally ferments in whole clusters in open concrete tanks, with a maceration of 12-13 days. No oak is used and the wine is bottled with a light fermentation.
Louis-Claude Desvignes Morgon Javernières is a wine with great typicity that reveals the quality of the terroir in its balance and structure. A Morgon to fall in love with, and with great aging potential.
