About Lo Cometa Blanco
Lo Cometa Blanco is a white wine produced by Bodegas Abanico in Batea, D.O. Terra Alta.
Bodegas Abanico is a project that was created in 2006 by Rafael De Haan and Núria Altés, a couple who share their personal and professional life. Their intention is to select wines and create new labels all around the world.
In that same year, they made their first wine in the winery Celler Batea. From that moment, they have developed several labels in Spain and South America, creating a portfolio of wines with varietal characters, local genuineness, and excellent quality.
Lo Cometa Blanco is a wine made from White Grenache, planted in the highest area of Terra Alta. The grapes are harvested by hand. Before they ferment in stainless steel deposits, the pulp and the seeds are separated, then they are crushed and softly pressed. They ferment in stainless steel deposits.
2020 | Lo Cometa Blanco 2020 is a crisp white wine. The bouquet is forthright, redolent with scents of white fruit, peach, melon, and blossoms. On the palate, it is gentle and expansive, exhibiting a harmonious acidity with a hint of bitterness in the finish. |
|
2017 | Lo Cometa Blanco 2017 is a fresh, elegant and concentrated wine, with floral and citrus notes of white fruit. In this warmer vintage this wine gains in versatility. |
