La del Terreno Ninja de las Uvas Tinto is a natural red wine produced by the La del Terreno winery in the D.O. Bullas (Murcia) with the Garnacha variety.
La del Terreno is a small winery located in the Sierra de Lavia Regional Park, in the province of Murcia. The personal project of a fearless young woman who, having combined her studies as an agronomist with the cello in Germany, discovered her passion for winemaking. After training at different wineries like Josef Biffar (Germany), Vega Sicilia (Spain) and O. Fournier (Argentina) she decided to set up her own winery, seeking to design it in an energy-sustainable way. A modest modular construction that Julia Casado, who makes “la del Terreno”, has been able to take advantage of by making natural, ecological and unique wines.
La del Terreno Ninja de las Uvas Tinto is a wine made with grapes from 20-year-old strains planted in clay and calcareous gravel soil at 750 metres above sea level. These are small plots, all of them grown traditionally and without using agrochemicals. An ecological and organic agriculture is carried out manually and harvested in boxes of 15 kg.
In the winery, the La del Terreno Ninja de las Uvas Tinto grapes are 90% destemmed. After a gentle pressing, they macerate for 15 days and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks with 2 or 3 pump overs. It then undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation in used 500-litre barrels and is allowed to age for 12 months. It is finally bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphur.
Like all Julia’s wines, La del Terreno Ninja de las Uvas Tinto is a wine with a light profile and unique personality. A pure and pleasant drink that, despite its 16%, maintains the freshness of the grapes and the fruity character.
2018 | La del Terreno Ninja de las Uvas 2018 is a juicy red wine with aromas of fresh red fruit accompanied by notes of Mediterranean herbs like rosemary and thyme. On the palate it is elegant, complex and balanced. It has rounded tannins and a long aftertaste with spicy notes of vanilla and coffee. |
