About Jean Leon Vinya Palau
Jean Leon Vinya Palau is a red wine from the Penedès prepared by the Jean Leon winery. This wine is a varietal Merlot.
Jean Leon Vinya Palau uses grapes from vines planted in 1991 on calcareous clay and sandy soils. The grapes are harvested manually.
The grapes are fermented at a controlled temperature of 26º in stainless steel and then macerated for about 16 days.
Finally, Jean Leon Vinya Palau undergoes aging in French oak barrels for a year. Prior to marketing, the wine rests in the bottle for another six months.
The Jean Leon winery was founded in 1964. It is a tribute to the life of Jean Leon, a Spanish man who began working as a taxi driver in New York and ended up running a successful restaurant catering for the diverse personalities of Hollywood.
