Heinrich St. Laurent is an organic and biodynamic red wine, cask made by the Heinrich winery in Rosenberg, Burgenland with the native St. Laurent variety.
Gernot and Heike Heinrich make wines based on a deep understanding of the various environments which surround the vineyard. Under biodynamic precepts they create a natural balance between plants, animals and humans, and they carry out a completely artisan winemaking with local varieties which reflect the essence of the place.
Heinrich St. Laurent grapes come from vineyards located on the banks of Lake Neusiedl. They’re soils which are, on one side, defined mainly by shale and, on the other, by humus. Ecological agriculture is practiced, without using chemical products and under biodynamic precepts. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the cellar, the Heinrich St. Laurent grapes ferment spontaneously with native yeasts and macerate for three weeks in stainless steel and wooden tanks. After a gentle pressing, the wine matures in wooden tanks and 500-liter oak barrels for 25 months.
Heinrich St. Laurent is an easy to drink wine whose strengths are in the details. A light and nuanced red wine.
