El Inquilino is a red produced by the Bodegas Zorzal winery in the D.O.Ca. Rioja.
Bodegas Zorzal was founded in 1989 with the purpose of rescuing the indigenous varieties of the area, with the philosophy that wine originates in the vineyard.
They currently own 40 hectares located near the municipality of Fitero, where the gentle topography creates a small oasis between all the vineyards on the lower bank of the Ebro river, giving them an extra freshness. 25 of these hectares are planted with Grenache. The rest are planted with Graciano and Tempranillo, together with white varieties like White Grenache.
El Inquilino is the new range of wines from the winery in La Rioja.
El Inquilino is a wine made with Grenache grapes from vineyards located in the Najerilla Valley, with an average age of 35 years.
Grapes are harvested by hand and selected. Once destemmed and pressed, they are fermented in 5,000 liter stainless steel vats with native yeasts. The malolactic fermentation and the subsequent aging for 6 months is carried out in two year old 225 liter French oak barrels .
Proyecto Zorzal is one of the most interesting wineries in Navarre. Parting from an innovative style, vines treated with care, and a very well-kept aesthetic, Viña Zorzal gains more followers each day. Without any doubt, a breath of fresh air for the Spanish winemaking scene.
