About E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rouge
E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rouge is a red wine made with Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre , produced by Domaine E. Guigal.
Domaine E. Guigal is a family winery that makes wine in different denominations of the Rhone Valley. It was founded in 1946 and is currently managed by the second and third generation of the family. In several vintages it has succeeded in having several of its wines obtain the highly coveted 100 Parker points. The winery has also produced its own barrels since 2003.
The soils of the vineyards for E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rouge are varied. Silts, granites, boulders and sediments predominate. The vines have an average age of 35 years and the average yield is 40 hectolitres per hectare. The continental climate predominates in the area.
E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rouge is vinified in a traditional way: by destemming, pressing and fermenting at low temperature. The maceration with the skins is prolonged until after the fermentation. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels.
2018 | E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2018 is an elegant, fine red wine that balances tannins, acidity and fruit. A fleshy wine, with aromas of black fruit and spices. |
|
2015 | E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2014 has aromas of black fruit and spicy notes reminiscent of black pepper. On the palate it is rounded, with tannins that are integrated but present on the palate. It is a wide, complex and pleasant wine, with good persistence. |
