About Donovan Rall White
Donovan Rall White is a white wine coupage of Chenin Blanc, Verdello and Viognier made by Donovan Rall under the Wine of Origin Swartland denomination in the Coastal Region, South Africa.
The grapes used to make Donovan Rall White come from vineyards with mainly broken granite and gravel soils. The harvest is carried out early and when the clusters reach the winery, they are crushed, destemmed or placed into a small press, depending on the varieties, which are vinified separately.
The must is transferred to used French oak barrels where it ferments with native yeasts, a process that can last between three and nine months. The resulting wine continues to age with its lees and with regular battonage over 10 months before the final coupage is made and bottled for sale.
Donovan Rall is a South African winemaker who is chasing his dream of making wines with a unique and natural style, and that is exactly what he has managed to do. His wines, made in limited quantities with varieties that do well in the heat, are full of complexity and character, important wines that are catching people’s attention.

2018 | Donovan Rall White 2018 is a white wine with fruity and floral aromas reminiscent of peaches and tropical fruits on the nose, accompanied by an earthy hue. On the palate it expands to reveal a broad texture that reaffirms the fruit accompanied by mineral notes. A delicious wine with a long aftertaste that becomes more complex over time. |
