Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Viallière is a Syrah variety red wine made in the AOC Côte-Rôtie by Domaine Rostaing.

When the renowned winemaker René Rostaing took charge of the winery belonging to his brother-in-law and uncle, he began to make and sell wines with a focus on the maximum expression of the terroir. With this philosophy in mind, the winery in northern Rhone currently has 20 plots that are used to make a great variety of wines.

The Côte-Rôtie terroir is the northernmost of the great denominations of the Rhone Valley. A unique diversity of soils fully on display, where Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Viallière shows all their characteristics. To make this happen, they use organic farming methods, where each vineyard is treated differently according its to sun exposure, strain age and soil composition. Once the grapes reach their optimum ripeness, they are harvested by hand.

Most of the grapes are destemmed in the winery. The winemaking process lasts between 4 and 5 weeks and begins with a long maceration followed by alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts. The wine is then aged between 18 and 22 months in 600-litre oak barrels and bottled unfiltered.

Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Viallière, Pierre Rostaing’s tribute to his grandfather, combines the freshness that these terroirs offer with the elegance of the Syrah variety.
