Characteristics Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie La Landonne
Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie La Landonne is a Syrah variety red wine made by Domaine Rostaing in the AOC Côte Ròtie. Along with his son Pierre, the prestigious winemaker and businessman René Rostaing runs this operation that stands out for the respect they have for each of the plots, which are cultivated separately. This has led to Domaine Rostaing currently managing 7 hectares spread between Côte-Rôtie (Ampodium, Côte Blonde, La Landonne), Condrieu (La Bonnette) and Languedoc, and making a wide variety of very different, small production and highly sought after wines.
Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie La Landonne comes from a magnificent northern Rhone plot that is rich in iron oxide and shale. Although they use traditional agriculture methods, the individual characteristics of each strain are taken into account depending on soil components, age and sun exposure. A reasoned viticulture with a low production yield that does not exceed 35 hectolitres per hectare.
In the winery, the Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie La Landonne grape passes over a selection table without being destemmed. Fermentation is activated naturally with native yeasts and the maceration process is long to extract the maximum concentration of fruit. It then ages for 22 months in various barrels, 10% of which are new.
Domaine Rostaing Côte-Rôtie La Landonne is a red wine with body, power and a beautiful purity worth trying.
