Domaine Guiberteau Clos de Guichaux is an organic white wine made from Chenin Blanc and produced by Domaine Guiberteau, in the Saumur region of the Loire Valley, in France.
Romain Guiberteau, who currently runs the winery, is part of the fourth generation of this family estate located in the heart of the Loire. Domaine Guiberteau owns vines that are between 5 and 80 years old, and thanks to the advice of the Foucault brothers from Clos Rougeard, since 2003 they have cultivated them according to the principles of organic agriculture, so in the plots the use of herbicides and pesticides is forbidden.
Domaine Guiberteau Clos de Guichaux is a wine that results from selecting the grapes from a single plot, Clos de Guichaux, located in Bizay, Saumur, whose soils are composed of silt and sand on a bed of soft and smooth limestone.
The harvest is carried out manually. The bunches picked are transported to the cellar where a slow pressing is applied. The must obtained ferments with its own yeast and is aged in French oak barrels.
Domaine Guiberteau Clos de Guichaux is an exquisite wine that is deep and complex, which reflects the quality obtained from the magnificent vineyards in Saumur.
