Characteristics Domaine de Fontbonau La Lence de Fontbonau
Domaine de Fontbonau La Lence de Fontbonau is an organic white wine made with the Roussanne and Viognier varieties in Côtes-du-Rhône by Fontbonau.
Domaine de Fontbonau was born in 1997 when lifelong friends François Pinault from Château Latour and Jérôme Malet from Domaine Sarda-Malet began a thorough study of the soils in the Drôme Provençale region to work out how to create the best expression in all their wines. With 42 hectares of ecologically certified vineyards, they make exquisite wines that are worth trying.
Domaine de Fontbonau La Lence de Fontbonau comes from organic vineyards where strain yields have been drastically reduced. Planted in clay and limestone soils, they do not use any chemicals that could destabilise the natural balance of the terroir. The harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach their optimum ripeness.
The winery was built to make use of gravity, which means there is very little racking needed in the reception, destemming and pressing of the grapes. Domaine de Fontbonau La Lence de Fontbonau ferments at a controlled temperature and ages for 6 months in the barrel.
Domaine de Fontbonau La Lence de Fontbonau is a white wine that presents the perfect balance between the Viognier variety and the richness of the Roussanne variety.
