Domaine Curtet Autrement Rouge is a natural, wood-aged red wine made with the Gamay, Pinot Noir and Mondeuse varieties by Domaine Curtet in the AOC Savoie, in Savoie (France).
Successors of Savoie’s leading biodynamic producer, Jacques Maillet, Florian and Marie Curtet took the baton and began applying all the knowledge they had acquired on their 5-hectare estate on the slopes above the Haute-Rhône river, near Switzerland. Their approach is strictly non-interventionist and their wines showcase the maximum expression of the terroir.
Domaine Curtet Autrement Rouge comes from vines planted on molasse soils of marine origin mixed with clays and conglomerates and enjoying a very special microclimate influenced by the Rhone River. The vines are cultivated using organic agriculture and biodynamic treatments with infusions and herbal preparations. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
Domaine Curtet Autrement Rouge is made with minimal intervention. First the whole bunches macerate for 4 weeks and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts. The wine is then aged in wood for 9 months on its own fine lees. Finally, it is bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphites.
A benchmark in natural winemaking in Savoie, Domaine Curtet Autrement Rouge is a red wine that reflects a unique terroir with transparent precision and purity.
