De Sousa Brut Rosé is a biodynamic sparkling wine from the AOC Champagne made by De Sousa with the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varieties.
Winemaker Erick De Sousa is the third generation to run this family winery located in Avize, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs in Champagne. The winery has a total of 9.5 hectares of old vineyards that they have been managing since 1986 and through their wines, they pay tribute to an exceptional sparkling wine region.
De Sousa Brut Rosé is a coupage of the Chardonnay variety, which comes from the town of Grauves, and the Pinot Noir variety from Aÿ. The vines are 25-30 years old on average and planted in chalk soils, a white, porous and soft sedimentary rock of organic origin. The vines are cultivated using organic and biodynamic agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
De Sousa Brut Rosé is made using the traditional champenoise method. Firstly, the must ferments in tanks and ages in wooden barrels and then it undergoes a second fermentation and ages for a minimum of 30 months in the bottle. Finally, it is disgorged by adding 7 grams of sugar per litre.
De Sousa Brut Rosé is a pleasant cuvée with the freshness and energy of Chardonnay and the fruitiness of Pinot Noir. A delicate, elegant and fresh champagne.
