Coravin Model Two Elite Gold

Coravin Model Two Elite Gold contains the device in the colour gold, with a modern and stylish design, finished in stainless steel, zinc and ABS plastic. It has a standard Teflon-coated stainless steel needle, two capsules of argon gas, a tool to clean the needle, the user guide and a 2-year warranty.

The innovative Coravin system allows you to serve a glass of wine without uncorking the bottle. Keep the rest of the wine and enjoy it later on, without it losing its properties, with all its aroma and flavour intact.

Coravin Model Two Elite Gold is a device that punctures the cork, without removing the capsule, with a thin Teflon-coated stainless steel needle that avoids the cork from breaking. Once inside, the system injects argon gas to pressurise the bottle. Argon gas is a neutral gas with a very low, colourless and inert chemical reactivity that does not alter the wine. With the bottle already pressurised, it is slightly tilted, and by activating a release lever, the wine is extracted through the inserted needle.

Once the desired amount has been served, the needle is removed from the bottle, leaving all the pressure that was initially there. This prevents the wine from being in contact with oxygen.

The Coravin system was created by Greg Lambert, an engineer from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, when his wife became pregnant and stopped drinking wine. The passion of this engineer for good wines along with the need to avoid wasting the rest of the wine from bottles he uncorked and did not finish, led him to design a prototype that has revolutionised the world of wine. Since then, we are able to enjoy great wines without having to finish the entire bottle.
