Clau de Nell Anjou Cabernet Franc is a biodynamic monovarietal Cabernet Franc red wine from the Clau de Nell winery and from AOC Anjou.

Clau de Nell is a winery founded in 2008. It has about 10 continuous hectares of vineyards, and cultivates them according to the principles of biodynamics. The Loire river can be seen from the highest point of its vineyards.

The vineyards for Clau de Nell Anjou Cabernet Franc are cultivated following the principles of biodynamics and are between 35 and 45 years old. There are 5 hectares of silty and clayey soils with sand and limestone. The vines are trained using the Guyot system that guarantees a balanced development and production.

Clau de Nell Anjou Cabernet Franc is fermented with native yeasts at a controlled temperature of about 18 to 25 ºC and macerated with the skins for 30 days. The skins are pressed gently and slowly in a pneumatic press. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels. Lastly, it ends up being bottled without filtering or clarifying.

Clau de Nell Anjou Cabernet Franc is a rounded, fine and elegant wine that is soft on the palate and velvety, with floral fragrances and those of ripe fruit. A refined wine that is lively and energetic. It is the expression of a Cabernet Franc from the Loire.

Clau de Nell Anjou Cabernet Franc 2013 is a delicate and fruity wine that combines blueberries, pepper, cedar and raspberry. On the palate it is dry and rounded, with subtle touches of undergrowth.
Clau de Nell Anjou Cabernet Franc 2012 is reminiscent of wet stones, moss, a little oak, black licorice, blueberries, cherries, violets and leather. On the palate it is fresh and full, with memories of what is perceived in the nose.
Clau de Nell Anjou Cabernet Franc 2011 is a vibrant, bright and delicate wine. Memories of pepper, black currant and sour cherries come to us; all with a cool base note of undergrowth and leather touches. On the palate it is fresh, silky, delicate and lingering.
