About Château Grand Village Bordeaux Blanc
“The longer the tea is in contact with the water, the stronger it will be, but the flavour won’t be good.” Using this comparison, the Guinaudeau family moves away from winemaking trends that promote over-ripeness and long macerations. This is clear to see in their wines, characterised by the expertise that is typical of this family with a long winemaking tradition. Owner of the prestigious Château Lafleur in Pomerol, they use the same care and dedication in the wines they make at the Château de Le Grand Village, their original house in Fronsac, Bordeaux. Sylvie and Jacques, helped by their son Baptiste and his wife Julie, produce two wines on this estate, one red and one white, which far exceed their Bordeaux Supérieur classification. These are undoubtedly leading wines of the denomination.
Château Grand Village Bordeaux Blanc is a coupage of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon varieties in equal proportions from vines planted in the chalky, clayey soil that is typical of Saint-Émilion. The vines are about 35 years old and are surrounded by meadows and forests where traditional agriculture is practiced manually and without chemical herbicides. Once the grapes have been harvested, 60% of the wine is vinified in stainless steel tanks, 30% in new oak barrels and 10% in one-year-old barrels at a low temperature to respect the fruit. The wine is then aged for 8 months in 225 litre French oak barrels.
Made by the same team that produces the prestigious LaFleur, Château Grand Village Bordeaux Blanc is a white wine that radiates style and elegance. An authentic classic Bordeaux wine by the Guinaudea family that you are sure to love.
