About Chateau De Malleret

Luxury and wine often go hand in hand. Although today we all have access to wine, in the past great wines were associated with wealth, elegance and prestige. In the 18th century, many wine merchants struck gold and even acquired significant Chateaux in search of recognition. One of these wineries was Chateau De Malleret, a property located in the Haut-Médoc region (Bordeaux), whose origins date back to the late sixteenth century, but which since 1860 has been owned by the Clossmanns, an important family of wine merchants who did not skimp on showcasing luxury and wealth at their imposing 290-hectare chateau.

It is still run by their descendants, who work 57 hectares of vineyards to make great wines like this Chateau De Malleret. It is the house’s namesake wine made from the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties. These vines are 25 years old on average and planted in gravel, pebble and boulder soil. This is a well-drained terroir, perfect for vine cultivation, as it helps regulate water and prevents excess humidity. They work respectfully to maintain the natural balance of the terroir and the grapes are harvested by hand when they reach optimum ripeness. Once the grapes reach the winery, they are selected and destemmed to begin fermentation in concrete and wood tanks with a controlled temperature of 27-28°C. After being vatted for 3-4 weeks, the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, a third of which are new.

Owned for the last 3 centuries by an important family of wine merchants, Chateau De Malleret offers all the elegance, character and finesse to keep company with the highest echelons. A wine from the prestigious AOC Haut-Medoc to enjoy in luxury.
