About Cellers Unió Perlat Blanc

Producing excellent wines is just a small example of what they can do. And we can assure you that they can end up doing a lot! Cellers Unió has demonstrated this for more than 70 years with wines produced in their six denominations of origin. In the D.O. Montsant, in the northeast of the Peninsula, they make Cellers Unió Perlat Blanc.

Grenache Blanc and Macabeo form the perfect blend that gives essence to this white wine aged for more than four months in oak. Really quite something. Throughout the production process of Cellers Unió Perlat Blanc they take great care over every little detail. In fact, if they didn’t do this, the project, which brings together several generations of winegrowers, wouldn’t be sustainable, since ensuring the sustainability of the environment that provides their ingredients is their main aim. And they have been doing this for more than 70 years. Continuous improvements in winery facilities and equipment are key to this process (as well as partial barrel fermentation).

Garnacha Blanca and Macabeo are equally essential. Both varieties, which are typical of the area, are perfectly suited to the area’s climate, where there is an abundance of mixed soils, rocks and geological sediments (igneous rocks, slate, sedimentary rocks and calcareous elements). Handled with the utmost care, and spending four months on lees, Cellers Unió Perlat Blanc embodies the purest soul of the D.O. Montsant. You couldn’t find anything more typical of the area.
