Ca’ Di Mat Los Peros Garnacha is a red wine made with the Garnacha variety by the Ca’ Di Mat winery at the foot of the Sierra de Gredos, in the D.O. Vinos of Madrid.
Ca’ Di Mat, “crazy house” in Piedmont was set up by the couple Paolo Armando and Victoria Serrano with the help of Curro Bareño and Jesús Olivares in the Madrid town of San Martín de Valdeiglesias. Their wines are made with minimal intervention and the local granite soil gives their wines an elegance and delicacy that is increasingly appreciated around the world.
Ca’ Di Mat Los Peros Garnacha comes from a recovered vineyard located in the municipality of San Martín de Valdeiglesias (Madrid). The vines are 80 years old and planted at 850 metres above sea level on granite soils. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the vines are surrounded by fruit trees, forest and orchard.
In they winery, the Ca’ Di Mat Los Peros Garnacha grapes macerate whole for 60 days and ferment spontaneously with native yeasts. Half of the wine is aged in concrete and the other half in 500-litre French oak barrels.
Ca’ Di Mat Los Peros Garnacha is a very limited production that is made in a recovered area in the Sierra de Gredos. A light and very elegant little gem.
