Bruma del Estrecho Paraje Las Chozas Viñas Viejas is a red wine produced in the D.O. Jumilla by Bruma del Estrecho de Marín.

Bruma del Estrecho de Marín is a personal project created by Elena Pacheco and Isio Ramos. This project is born from their aim to produce 100% Monastrell wines in different areas of the D.O. Jumilla. All of this is possible thanks to the winery that Elena's family has in this area, Bodegas Viña Elena. Here, each vineyard area goes through the winemaking process individually, showing the character of the Monastrell grape according to different soils and microclimates.

They have 4 different vineyard areas in two different places, Las Chozas and Marín. They seek the highest quality and the expression of the terroir in all their wines, especially focusing on the vintage. A vintage that does not reach an optimum quality or that does not show the character of the vineyard area, will not be released on the market.

Bruma del Estrecho Paraje Las Chozas Viñas Viejas is a wine made from the Monastrell variety, from ungrafted vines that are between 35 and 50 years old, located north from D.O. Jumilla, planted on calcareous soils with boulders and in other sandy areas. Grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel deposits for 6 days at a temperature of 24ºC with local yeasts. 50% of the wine is aged for 3 months in French oak barrels with soft toasting.

Bruma del Estrecho Paraje Las Chozas Viñas Viejas is a fresh, complex and mineral wine. With a lot of fruit and balsamic hints. An extremely versatile wine.

To speak of Jumilla wine is to really refer to the Monastrell grape variety. In recent years Jumilla has undergone an impressive transformation. Once used as concentrated and highly alcoholic wines to give strength to weaker wines from other regions, the wines from Jumilla have managed to change this reputation, now enjoying prestige from all over the world. Flavourful wines, with body and concentrated. As well as red wines, the region is also known for their rosés, again produced with the Monastrell variety.
