Bond Pluribus 2014 is a concentrated red wine that should be opened ahead of time to give it chance to breathe. Once oxygenated, it reveals very lively aromas of black fruits, earthy notes and hints of cigar box. On the palate it has a bright entrance that immediately translates into density, flavour and structure. A wine that reveals robust tannins, good acidity and a very persistent finish.

Bond Pluribus is a wood-aged red wine produced by Bond Estate with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties in AVA Napa Valley, California (USA).

Bond Estate is a premium winery owned by prestigious winegrower Bill Harlan with five “grand crus” in the Vaca and Mayacamas mountain ranges in the Napa Valley. With a name inspired by his mother’s maiden name and presented with labels that look like old banknotes, these are limited production wines that can only be purchased through a private list or occasionally in specialist stores.

Bond Pluribus comes from an exceptional plot whose name means “many” in Latin, which is a reference to the many components that go into making wine. The vines are planted on well eroded volcanic soils. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture, with limited production, and the grapes are harvested when they reach optimum ripeness.

When it comes to vinifying Bond Pluribus, the crushed grapes are macerated and fermented at a controlled temperature and with native yeasts. The wine then ages for 18 months in 225-litre French oak barrels.

Made from a vineyard capable of delivering exceptional quality year after year, Bond Pluribus is an extremely high quality wine. A wine to hold onto for a while, made by Harlan.
