- New

Berdié Brut Nature Reserva is a dry sparkling wine (less than 12 g/L of sugar). The nose stands out for its fresh notes of apple and lime. The background of pastry, hazelnut and yeast complement the touch of white flowers on the finish. On the palate it is refreshing, acidic and unctuous, with great breadth. Light-bodied, it is intense and fruity.
It all started with Roberto Jovani. Jovani produced high quality cavas in Castellví de la Marca (an hour from Barcelona). Until 2006, when he finally passed it onto his three children: Montsa, Robert and Sergi.
Bodegas Berdié, in the Alt Penedès, is now one of the best cava producers in the D.O.Cava, with several vintages and bottles awarded Parker Points. This winery brought in a new concept of cava, but without losing sight of its roots and tradition. Alongside new concepts and modern techniques, they are still making the house’s great classics like Berdié Brut Nature Reserva.
Opening a bottle of Berdié Brut Nature Reserva means revealing the aromas and flavours of the D.O.Cava. In this area, located in the northeast of Spain, the vines are influenced by both the Mediterranean climate and the small microclimates that are typical of each area. In this case, in the Alt Penedès, rainfall is more abundant and the contrast between maximum and minimum temperatures is much greater. These unique features result in wines with diverse flavours and characteristics, with unique notes that make them special.
This uniqueness is strongly defended at Bodegas Berdié, where the different varieties are fermented separately, at controlled temperatures. After this process, where the cold helps to maintain and enhance the aromas of each grape, the next step is the coupage or blending of the different cuvées to get the right proportion to make the magic with the Berdié Brut Nature Reserva. Finally, this cuvée will undergo a second fermentation in the bottle and then spend 15 to 27 months in an underground cellar.
