Arnot-Roberts Fellom Ranch is a wood-aged red wine made by Arnot-Roberts with the Cabernet Sauvignon variety in the Santa Cruz Mountains, California (USA).
Arnot-Roberts is run by two childhood friends, Nathan Roberts and Duncan Arnot-Meyers, who decided to set up their own winery in 2001, inspired by the “old world” style. To do this, they looked for unique vineyards in Northern California managed by passionate producers who seek the best expression of the terroir. As a result, they create high-quality, limited production wines.
Arnot-Roberts Fellom Ranch comes from a vineyard planted on mixed soils of volcanic and sedimentary origin, lying at 680 metres above sea level. These vines were planted in 1980 and are cultivated using respectful agriculture. Their location means they enjoy the influence of the Pacific Ocean.
In the winery, the Arnot-Roberts Fellom Ranch grapes ferment spontaneously with native yeasts, and 30% do so with the stems left on. Finally, the wine ages for 22 months in new French oak barrels, 15% of which are new.
Arnot-Roberts Fellom Ranch is one of the best wines from the Santa Cruz Mountains. A great Cabernet Sauvignon that is modest and elegant with a long finish. A marvellous wine that stands out from the typical opulent American Cabernets.
