Characteristics Antoine Jobard Meursault en la Barre
Antoine Jobard Meursault En La Barre is a single varietal Chardonnay white wine made by Antoine Jobard under the Meursault / Côte-d'Or AOC in Burgundy, France.
Antoine Jobard Meursault En La Barre is made with bunches which come from vineyards where clay-calcareous soils predominate. Upon reaching the winery, they’re pressed and racked so the must begins alcoholic fermentation. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels, without battonage, and ages for two years in barrels, of which 15% to 20% are for new use. All Domaine wines are aged in barrels and spend a long period in the cellar to finish blending.
Antoine’s father, François Jobard, is one of the great names of Meursault. A purist producer whose wines are liked by fans of Burgundy. He currently works shoulder-to-shoulder with his son Antoine, both humble winegrowers who make white wines with extraordinary aging power in their small family winery located in the lower part of their house, where the naturally cold temperatures cause slow fermentations which result in wines which at first seem austere but which with the passage of time express their extraordinary fullness.
