Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Cuvée is a French term that in winemaking refers to wines made by blending batches of different varieties or plots. It is similar to a coupage, or assemblage in Spanish, but always using grapes from the same vintage. Because of this, these wines reach a quality that would be very difficult to achieve with the wines kept separate. This mission, which is challenging and carries great responsibility, falls on the winemakers, who must know how to identify the main potential in each plot. Some would hardly dare, but others are masters, like Jean-François Ganevat, who manages to make more than a hundred simultaneously.

From one of these cuvées comes Anne et Jean-François Ganevat Cuvée Madelon Nature, a red made in the village of La Combe, very close to Rotalier, in the Jura region (east of Burgundy), in the DO Vin de France denomination.

Anne et Jean-François Ganevat Cuvée Madelon Nature is the result of Jean-François’s rediscovery of past techniques and varieties to produce avant-garde wines. This rediscovery begins in the vineyard, on the 12 biodynamically-cultivated hectares owned by the brothers or through buying grapes from local producers, which are harvested by hand and destemmed, then in the winery, Jean-François Ganevat makes the cuvées and Anne Ganevat manages and administrates.

This work results in wines like Anne et Jean-François Ganevat Cuvée Madelon Nature, which is made through the spontaneous fermentation of native yeasts in cone-shaped tanks and 12 months of aging in demi muids. Finally, it is bottled without filtering or refining, and no sulphites are added.

Beyond its meaning, the cuvée is the origin of each wine’s essence, the place its soul is born. Anne et Jean-François Ganevat Cuvée Madelon Nature is the perfect introduction to the true character of French wines.
