About Albert Bichot Puligny-Montrachet Village
If chardonnay is well known for anything, it is for its versatility. This white variety, native to Burgundy, has no difficulty growing and ripening in almost any part of the world. However, in the Côte de Beaune, specifically at the Puligny-Montrachet AOC, this variety finds its most perfect expression. At its centre, the Côte de Beaune is a perfect place for the production of white wines. Perhaps its clay and limestone soils, with some marl, have something to do with it. The reputation of these wines is more than proven, and this is where Albert Bichot, the renowned French winemaker, comes in to make Albert Bichot Puligny-Montrachet Village, a complex white full of nuance.
Albert Bichot Puligny-Montrachet Village is part of the collection of wines produced by this winegrowers' guru: six estates, 105 hectares and dealings and business with more than 70 winegrowers endorse the career of Albert, the sixth and latest generation of a family that has been in the wine business since 1831. Today, this house, which has been awarded twice with prizes such as the International Wine Challenge, is the official supplier of the Swedish Royal House.
Albert Bichot Puligny-Montrachet Village is aged in new oak barrels. The process will last between six weeks and two months, until it is time to put Albert Bichot Puligny-Montrachet Village to rest. Aging, which lasts about 16 months, is carried out in oak barrels (some of them new and others used). Finally, Albert Bichot Puligny-Montrachet Village is bottled and placed on the market. A royal pleasure within the reach of the most discerning palates.
