Abreu Vineyards Las Posadas is a red wine made by Abreu Vineyards with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties in AVA Napa Valley, California (USA).
David Abreu is a rancher who founded his own winery, Abreu Vineyards, in 1986 in the Napa Valley, in St. Helena, with the help of prestigious winemaker Richard Forman and following the Bordeaux style. They produce precious and very limited production wines that are well thought of around the world and not widely available.
Abreu Vineyards Las Posadas comes from a single plot located on Howell Mountain, 600 metres above sea level and where the vines are planted on gravel soils. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and following the cultivation and planting techniques used in Bordeaux. The grapes are harvested manually and the best berries are selected in the vineyard itself.
In the winery, once the best grapes have been selected to make Abreu Vineyards Las Posadas, they are macerated and ferment with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The best wines are then aged for 18 months in 225-litre French oak barrels.
Made by one of the leading premium grape growers in Napa Valley, Abreu Vineyards Las Posadas is a super limited production Bordeaux-style wine. A select wine labelled with illustrations engraved by Bob Swartley and then press printed. A true work of art that can only be bought by members of the winery's personal list or through certain online shops.
