Zárate Fontecón Rosé is a rosé wine without denomination of origin produced by the winery Zárate in Ribadumia (Pontevedra).
Zárate is a family-run winery located in Ribadumia, in the heart of Valle del Salnés (Galicia). It is situated in a traditional country house or ‘pazo’ built in the 16th century, which was entirely rebuilt for the purpose of winemaking and to be used as a winery.
Zárate is a pioneer in the production of Albariño wines, which are so successful nowadays, since the winery started to make them in the middle of the century. The winery limits its production a lot, trying to make each bottle as expressive as possible.
Zárate Fontecón Rosé is a rosé wine made with Espadeiro, Albariño and Caiño Tinto, from the small farm Fontecón.
After a manual harvest and once the grapes are in the winery, they go through a short maceration to the ferment with native yeasts.
