Bodegas Valdemar is a family company whose origins date back to 1889. Jesus Martinez Bujanda, who owns it, began construction in 1982. Its modern facilities and innovative methods in the preparation of their wines were from the beginning its identity. Bodegas Valdemar has become the standard in the Rioja wines, blending the expertise of a long winemaking tradition with the continuous record in research to achieve always the highest quality.
Bodegas Valdemar wines are made exclusively as from their own vineyards, allowing them to take care of the whole process from the strain and make a selection of grapes for each wine. Bodegas Valdemar has always been a pioneer in the use of the latest technological advances that have enabled them to improve quality and achieve excellent wines. One example is its extraordinary Inspiración Valdemar Colección Varietales 2005, made from 100% Maturana, a grape nearly extinct. They were also the first winery in Rioja to produce a barrel fermented white wine. It was one of the first wineries in Europe with temperature control in fermentation tanks.
