Irius winery is located in Barbastro (Huesca), has 355 acres of vineyard property and has a production capacity of 5.5 million liters, with estimated exports of 70 percent. Irius belongs to the Proconsol group, present in various sectors of activity such as cleaning products, real estate, entertainment, restaurants ..., in addition to another winery in the Rioja DOC (Bodega Antión) - which it has invested nearly 60 million euros.
The cornerstone of this amazing facility was placed in January 2005, combining construction with the development of wine, which has already been on the market under the brand Irius, Absum and Disuperi. At this time, the quality of wine has not gone unnoticed for big experts like Robert Parker, José Andrés Peñín or Proensa. They have also picked up awards at major international reputation as The International Wine & Spirit Competition, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, The International Wine Challenge or Enoforum. The project was designed by the architect Jesús Marino Pascual, also author of the Wine Museum of Dynasty Vivanco, and Bodegas Darien and Bodegas Antión. The building has a height of 54 meters, 27 of which are buried achieving energy savings of 70% and allowing the use of gravity for the movement of grapes, musts and wines. One of the features of this winery is the incorporation of procedures and the latest technology, emphasizing three patented elements (the isothermic trailer, the vertical pneumatic press and the "cerravid") to the most ancient processes for preparing the wine.
